ADC Monomer RL-061 (Xiangshan, Ningbo,
Zhejiang)
ADC monomers RL-061 are cured with peroxides over a
broad temperature range (e.g from 35¡ãC to 129¡ãC) and
curing time of up to between 12 hours to 24 hours depending
on shapes configuration and thickness to produce shatter-resistant,
optical clear sheets and lenses.
Although there are several initiators available in
the market place, the preferred initiators for most
producers is IPP(di-isopropyl peroxydicarbonate made
from reacting Na2O2 with IPCF (Isopropyl chloroformate)
because of their ability to cure Allyl Diglycol Carbonate
monomers at low temperature resulting in meeting require
properties as follows;
The optical properties are;
Refractive index
Reflectance
Abbe number (color dispersion)
Haze (scattering effect)
Yellow index
The mechanical properties are;
Specific gravity
Impact resistance (drop ball test)
Barcol hardness
Scratchability (pencil test)
Abrasion resistance (steel wool test for hard coated
surface)
Tintability (color dye absorption) |

Bluing/coloring Agent
(¡°Blu-B¡± and ¡°Blu-R¡±), From Shanghai Fudan Chemical Products.
These 2 solutions combined can be use for both 1.50 index
(to add 0.2%) and 1.56 index (to add 0.2% to 0.4%) materials.
They are being delivered in bottle of 1 kg (1¦Ìm, 3,000ppm
(3 g/1kg)) 99.7% ADC monomer. It reduces the yellowness
down to below 1% depending on dosages and the level of
yellowness from the monomer material that one uses. |

Pressure sensitive adhesive tape
Tape physical specifications for 1.50 and 1.56 monomers:
Pressure sensitive adhesive tape made with: butyl acrylate, acrylic resin, together with necessary additives. The glue like substances is being applied through a laminating process over a specially prepared PET base transparent sheet. Once the surface are cure dried. They are being slit cut to size (20mm RED tip and 25 mm BLUE tip x 50 m) for delivery. The tested pull strength of the tape is 1 kg if not more.
Advantages are;
- Sealability (prevent leakages),
- No migration between adhesive and resin (monomer/catalyze),
- Stiffness, withstand monomer casting temperature,
- Stability; flexible, upon response to collapse or compressible.
- Will not leave residues (glue) or sticks to glass mold after casting process. Therefore will not dirty glass mold in the process. Thus allow glass mold stay in circulations with minimum cleaning.
Economic consideration!
The advantage of using pressure sensitive adhesive tapes; To begin with, initial investments for injection molding processes are being eliminated. Next, logistic on SKU (stock-keeping-unit) in molding inserts (toolings) and gaskets (finished products) disappear as well. With pressure sensitive adhesive tape, flexibility to shift or shuttle between products range are swift and easy. Moreover added advantages, glass mold diameter are being reduced and that translated into reduction of glass blank use and monomer consumption making more saving in production costs. Jigs and tools design enhancing ophthalmic lens
making productivity
In any industries and once direct labor is required, the
ability of each worker can only be maximized to the limit
of what one can do with their bare hands and legs. To
increase their output the worker must be given tools and
or jigs to further enhance their ability to increase productivity.
Otherwise the labor rate will eventually overtake the
output of each worker and forced production in to the
infeasible stage. To seek must have and not nice to have
jigs and fixtures. |

Edge Measurement Device
Similar to Barcol hardness indenter which check surface cure hardness of severely curved or irregular surfaces. The edge measurement device was created just to do the same. With a curve, the means to measure the edge with a caliper is not as easy as you thought. This little device allows any beginner to measure the edge of a lens with ease. Ideally measuring 0.5 to 2.0 mm edge thickness. jt061209 |
